Ride Concepts Launches 2022 Footwear Collection

0
Ride Concepts has announced its Spring and Summer 2022 footwear collection, with some new additions to the lineup alongside some updated returns. There’s plenty of cushioning and shock absorption to be seen here, with D3O material in the insoles of the top performing shoes and layers of EVA foam in nearly every model. The outsoles all feature a variation of a hexagonal pattern, in three versions: Max Grip, which has the most grippy rubber, High Grip, which offers more adjustability for slopestyle and other riders, and Clip Grip, which – as the name suggests – incorporates a cleat channel.

Here’s what to see this spring.

Tallac & Canal
Tallac and Flume shoes are the big news here, as they’re brand new for this spring. As the latest addition to Ride Concepts’ trail and all-mountain lineup, the Tallac (men’s) and Flume (women’s) shoes are available in flat and clip-on options as well as BOA and traditional lace-up models.

The shoes are Ride Concepts’ first releases that incorporate seamless Cordura uppers, and the clip-on version has an extended cleat channel for plenty of adjustment options. Weighing between 365g (Flume Lace-Up Flat Pedal) and 570g (BOA Tallac Clip Pedal), the Flume and Tallac fit into the Ride Concepts range as sturdy all-around shoes.

Characteristics:
– Grippy rubber outsole with hexagonal pattern and “reverse hex” traction pattern on the toe and heel in Max Grip compound (flat) and Clip Grip design (clip)
– Lightweight bonded upper with Cordura mesh for durability and
breathability
– TPU toe and heel protection
– TPU mudguards to protect against dirt, debris and friction
– D3O High Impact Zone Technology insole for shock absorption
– EVA midsole for added cushion and support
– Heel pull tab for easy entry
– Sizes: US M 7-13, W 5-10
– Weight: 365 – 570g, depending on model
– Price: $160 (flat laces) – $210 (BOA clip), depending on model

hellion

Then come the Hellion Elite and Hellion Clip. Available in men’s and women’s versions, the Hellion shoe is Ride Concepts’ lightest shoe, and it’s now available in a clip-on version. The shoe has been upgraded with an antimicrobial lining and a microfiber upper that promises to use at least 30% recycled plastic.

– Recycled microfiber upper (30% PET) with perforated ventilation for breathability
– Anti-abrasion protection on the toes and heel
– Anti-bacterial mesh lining to control

Ride Concepts’ lifestyle and BMX shoe gets an update as Caroline Buchanan’s signature shoe. The sole has a waffle “inverted hexagon” pattern, which Ride Concepts says brings the pedal closer to the rider (but not too close) and a microfiber synthetic upper.

– Abrasion and weather resistant microfiber upper
– D3O High Impact Zone Technology insole for shock absorption
– Integrated gaiter keeps debris out

Live Cable

The Livewire is Ride Concepts’ classic must-have shoe, designed to fit the whole family, as it’s available in men’s, women’s and youth sizes. For this year, the outsole has been upgraded with the most grippy Max Grip rubber compound, but the shoe retains the rest of its simplicity, with a lace-up closure and elastic shoelace to keep things tidy.

Characteristics:
– Adherent outsole in Max Grip compound
– Abrasion-resistant synthetic mesh upper
– Toe and heel protection
– EVA midsole and dual-layer EVA sockliner provide support and cushioning
– Fully gusseted tongue
– Elastic lace tucked-in
– Sizes: US M 7-15, W 5-10, Y 2-6
