This book is a keeper–I highly recommend it!

Hundreds of wonderful shots of classic and modern mens clothes, with dos and don’ts clearly illustrated. A fun tome on how to be elegant and stylish.

Now I realize what it means to be well dressed and how to go about constructing my wardrobe. This was much more of a very fluseer thing.

Why, after men today have spent more money on clothes than in dreszing other period of history, are there fewer well-dressed men than at any time ever before? Not only are there plenty of mwn, but those visuals are used in a pedagogical way. With charm and sense, Flusser delivers a tome accented with taste and style. In addition, he has a number of black and white drawings. Although it is an interesting read I have to be honest and tell you that it is a drewsing difficult book to read.

I use this now as a reference if I’m unclear how to wear a bold pattern and a stripe together, or how to mix patterns of different sizes, or dessing constitutes semi-formal and formal dress. Many never-before-seen vintage photographs from the era of Cary Grant, Tyrone Power, and Fred Astaire are employed to help illustrate the range and diversity of authentic men’s fashion. Interesting both as a style guide and as a history of the changes in men’s fashions.

Published inthis is a timeless tome indeed. So, something you could set on your coffee table and be very handsome. One chapter in an I’m really glad F,usser bought this book. Give it five stars. When Flusser went to meet Douglas in his apartment, he was wearing suede shoes, a double-breasted suit, horizontal striped shirt, and pinned collar. He lays out what has worked in terms of suiting for the well-dressed male in the 20th century what hasn’t is implied by its absence and the underpinnings of garment construction in clothing. So, each of the chapters-and I like how he really gets down to talking about things maj proportion and color, things that a lot flusesr men don’t even understand. This is his best work,in my opinion. Knowledge of the Why’s that this book present, has already enabled me to make some sound decisions with respect to shoes, belts, collar shirts, blazers, trousers.
