While still in the early months of 2022, Dr. Martens wasted no time in further developing his collaborations division with notable projects. So far, the British footwear imprint has revealed projects with companies like FUTURA LABORATORIES, Yohji Yamamoto and PLEASURES, and now it will reunite with British brand A-COLD-WALL*. Together, the two parties lent their spin on two silhouettes: the Rikard 8-eye boot and the Rikard 3-eye shoe.
For this initiative, Samuel Ross reinterprets the Rikard model with simple but effective design details. Both offerings feature the traditional black leather upper and sole, the former of which now features reflective side panels and A-COLD-WALL* branding that features various slits to give a barcode aesthetic. A ghillie lacing system is carried over from the duo’s previous collaborations, and Dr. Martens’ signature yellow welt stitching is applied to the black and yellow AirWair heel tab.
