Converse and A-COLD-WALL* team up for a new space-age silhouette

Converse transports us straight to the future with its brand new Sponge Crater. Created in collaboration with Samuel Rossit is A-WALL-COLD*, the limited edition shoe is the first of its kind with a full Crater foam silhouette. Taking the exploration of Crater foam one step further, the shoe aims to showcase the material’s unparalleled comfort.

The shoe features a mule fit made up of only a few components, with Crater foam making up the entire upper of the silhouette. With a focus on comfort, the shoe is complete with CX foam underfoot, an egg crate-style traction pod, and a flat-knit upper, which aims to aid breathability. Finished with a spandex collar and pull tabs for easy donning, the new shoe prioritizes minimalism and wearability above all else.

First unveiled in 2020, Converse’s ongoing partnership with A-COLD-WALL* aims to reflect and represent the London subculture, with the experience of the British working class community deeply embedded in the DNA of the ACW brand. The Sponge Crater marks the partnership’s fourth release, following the chuck taylor Lugged, ERX260 and Aeon Active CX – released earlier this year.

Converse and A-COLD-WALL* present the new Sponge Crater through a campaign that features the London-based designer Eva Apio. The new silhouette will be available for purchase starting June 23 on the Converse and A-COLD-WALL Sites*alongside select retailers.
