Angry Edinburgh pensioner has wall outside her home repeatedly destroyed by vandals

An Edinburgh resident is angry at the wall of her property being destroyed by vandals as she waits at a bus stop outside her house.

Madge Buick, 75, took to Facebook to share her frustration as her street Drum Brae South The property’s wall came under attack again as three men worked for several days to repair it after it was vandalized a month ago.

In early March, Madge had to repair the wall after vandals scratched the harling – the third time this had happened.

Madge said: “The bus stop is a constant nightmare with young people all day and night.”

Tired of the sad look of the wall, Madge decided to have the wall repaired by workmen. She said: “Harling was abducted by a company with three men who worked there.

“They put a layer of cement on it, and within an hour or two of leaving, two youngsters on bikes raced their bikes along the wall and then put rough marks on the fresh cement.

“The builders came back to fix it, and they decided not to put the harling on that day because they might be back after further damage, and it’s hard to fix the harling.

“They decided to do it on Friday April 1 because schools have a half day so they will sort that out later in the day when schools are well finished.”
